42 FIPA - Tunisia – your partner for success The Foreign Investment Promotion Agency « FIPA-Tunisia » is a governmental organization, which has been set up in 1995 under the authority of the Ministry of Development and International Cooperation. It is responsible for providing all support required by foreign investors and for promoting foreign investment in Tunisia. FIPA-Tunisia and its offices abroad form a network for information, contacts, advice, support, assistance and help to foreign investors. FIPA-Tunisia and its offices abroad form an effective network: they provide information on investment opportunities in Tunisia and on the main reasons why Tunisia is such a profitable site for foreign direct investment. All pertinent information on Tunisia’s economy, human resources, infrastructure and investment incentives are presented in a wide range of publications in various languages … contacts can be made in Tunis or abroad, tapping targeted preliminary exploration work and missions that provide the answers to investor needs. This approach is based on providing the best Tunisia has to supply to companies looking to go international, advice is available on the conditions best suited to ensure the success of initiatives, the areas where operations can be set up, investment regimes, financing modes … investors will be accompanied on exploratory visits to Tunisia and throughout the various phases of implementation. FIPA staff will draw up schedules to visit Tunisian institutions and companies in the sector and areas of interest to a potential investor, support is provided to ensure the sustainability of the undertaking, by means of personalized monitoring and ongoing assistance from various Tunisian ministerial departments, institutions and regional authorities. FIPA-Tunisia is available to each and every foreign investor: to identify promising investment options, thanks to prospective studies carried out by world renowned consulting firms and/or specialized Tunisian institutions; to organize promotional events of either a general or sectoral nature, dealing with investment and partnership arrangements, meant to bring together investors and public and private operators and to put them in touch with the business community; to gather and disseminate information necessary to launch business initiatives in Tunisia, thanks to a data bank on Tunisia’s economic environment, regulations, industrial land and facilities, potential partnerships… ; to welcome investors and accompany them on business appointments, lining up the right contacts with public and private parties and organizing field visits throughout Tunisia; to help find the best sites for facilities, locating appropriate land and buildings at lowest cost, thanks to an up-to-date data bank at FIPA and to ongoing contacts with regional authorities that allow for a timely response to any request; to help foreign promoters throughout the duration of their undertakings, by facilitating the company’s integration in its new environment.
