Bennie is one of those teammates
that makes being a professional
rugby league player the best job in
the world.
Not only do you love to play with
him each weekend, but spending
hour after hour with him at training
makes my life the best!
Bennie gives his absolute all each
game for his teammates (shame
the same can’t be said for his
training) and his efforts inspire
everyone he playswith.
Each week he mixes it with the
biggest players in the comp, and
then every so often he will produce
some brilliance which shows off
just how talented he is.
He is without doubt one
of the best forwards I’ve
ever played with.
As I mentioned, Bennie made
going to training an absolute
pleasure.
His stories of ‘R Ty’, Keith Lemon
or simply what he had watched on
tele the night before kept me in
stitches every single day (chuck in
Paul Wood’s side comments and I
was on the ground laughing).
Although I must admit it took me
two years to work out what he was
saying!
Wrapping up...
If you saw Bennie with his shirt off
you might be forgiven for thinking
that he’s a ‘deep fried spam eating
legend’...
And you’d be right!
It was an absolute pleasure to play
with you mate and I can’t wait for
the 2019 and 2020 Wembley
reunions to tuck into a couple with
ya.

First of all I’d like to congratulate Bennie
for his testimonial and may I say it is
thoroughly deserved.To be quiet frank
with his workrate and enthusiasm for the
game Super Bennie Westwood should
be granted a testimonial every couple of
years...just ask Bennie!
Super Bennie Westwood is known as
many things:
*Chilled out entertainer.
*A tenacious rugby player with an appetite
for excellence and success.
*Most of all a natural born comedian with
lightening fast wit with the ability to make
people laugh at anything he is likely to say
or do.
I must admit when I first arrived in
Warrington that I used to wonder why
everyone around Bennie were laughing all
the time.I really wanted in on all the jokes
but it took me about three bloody months
to understand a word he said.
SBW was born to play rugby.
A bloke forever having fun around his
team mates and coaches and a bloke you
could rely on 100% of the time your were
on the pitch.
Even with training whether it be
endurance,speed or in the gym Bennie
used to keep Moz and myself company
leading the way for the rest of the squad.
He’ll always be a favourite of mine just like
he is with all the Wire faithful due to his
tireless efforts,fearlessness and passion
he displays for the Wolves week in,week
out.
Finally id just like to say to Bennie that I’m
proud to be your mate and I couldn’t be
more proud of what you’ve accomplished
in the game.
I still believe that Bennie has plenty left
in him and that the fearsome #12 for the
Wolves with the body of a Greek God,
motor that would outlast anyone, all up
a smile that wouldn’t look out of place in
One Direction will just continue to get
better with age.
Congrats again Bennie.
I’d just like to take this opportunity to say
hello to all the fans and everyone involved
with the club, we really miss you all and
wish all the success in the future.
