Early morning Meetings
The International Convention Centre (ICC)
in Birmingham became the first UK conference
venue to gain accreditation from Food for the
Brain; an educational charity which promotes
the importance of nutrition in mental health
and wellbeing.
With 650 culinary awards, Amadeus is the
team behind the food at the impressive venue
which last year hosted 450 events attracting
over 300,000 delegates. Gaining the Food for
Brain accreditation is not an easy process.
The International Convention Centre hosted
multiple site visits over a six month period
where accreditation requirements were
implemented. Teams at the centre underwent
further training so they could understand the
principles behind Food for Brain and pass this
information onto event organisers and meeting
bookers. Executive Head Chef Simon Hellier
created a menu that fully supports the charity’s
philosophy, methodology and high standards of
nutritional excellence.
