We recently had the BBA annual meeting.
The main news from that is we have
decided to call ourselves Bishopdale Village
and we have a new logo.
There has been a lot of discussion about
what we are and what we are not – with the
carparks and outdoor area being owned by
city council, numerous landlords leasing to
individual businesses and being a mix of
retail and services, we are quite unique.

community – this emphasises that we
are central to the wider community of
Bishopdale and the surrounding area.

This is a company owned by the city
council with the mandate to help plan and
implement the redevelopment of specific
areas.
The committee met with them in
October 2017 and since then they have
conducted a shopper survey and talked to
individual landlords and businesses to get
an understanding of the issues.
We hope that this will lead to improved
lighting and security in the village. It would
be great to involve some of our local schools
and community groups in the project too.
The next couple of years will be a very
exciting time for Bishopdale as new
businesses join us in the currently vacant
buildings and our area is rejuvenated.
