THAT’S right folks! DND Showband returns
to the Hornby Club this Saturday with the
original line up.
“We’ve had a lot of fun putting this show
together, ”said Jo-Anne Davern, performer
and manager of the band. “It’s been a good
couple of years since this line up last
performed together and I’m amazed at how
simply we all slotted back in place. It’s like
we were never apart.”
Joining Jo on stage will be regular
members Ben Harvey (guitar, vocals); Grant
McPhie (bass, keys); and Mark Newburn
(drums, vocals), along with showband
chanteuses Michele Webb, Gina Gilbreath,
and Mel Lawson.
Christchurch based DnD Showband has
been delighting audiences across the
country with their multi-tribute theme
shows for an incredible ten years. In
rehearsal mode for Saturday’s show, the 7
piece troupe has been busy fine tuning show
content, sorting costumes and tightening up
moves.
“We’ve put together a great play list
guaranteed to get everyone up dancing.
We’re opening with a set of 50s/60s tunes,
followed by our Moulin Rouge theme set
that brims with disco dance anthems of the
70s/80s, and concluding with our tribute to
ABBA,” said Jo. “And for those who prefer to
listen and watch, our professional tech’s
Peter Standring and Peter ‘Pedro’ Buchan-Ng
will be out front running our audio and
light systems to ensure it sounds and looks
wonderful.”
