After flying high as a member of Air New Zealand’s cabin crew<br />
for many years, three years ago West Melton resident Sandy<br />
Sharp landed on a different pathway, re-training in floristry and<br />
starting her own home-based business, Miss Lily Flowers.<br />
Flowers are Sandy’s passion, and she<br />
would like to see more New Zealanders<br />
following the European style of always<br />
having fresh flowers in the home. She plays<br />
her part in making them readily available<br />
with her mobile flower trailer, named<br />
Connie, which she sets up in Cathedral<br />
Square Christchurch every Friday and at<br />
the West Melton Market on<br />
Saturday mornings.<br />

“I prefer a more natural look for bouquets<br />
and arrangements and I’m finding there<br />
is quite a following for that. I love the<br />
creativity of the process and also the contact<br />
with people that floristry gives me.”<br />
She also provides floral arrangements<br />
for the real estate sector when homes for<br />
sale are staged for presentation to potential<br />
purchasers.<br />
