close in the classrooms for Year 2.
Both Year 2 classes visited Holy Trinity
Church where they learned some of the history
of the church and had the chance to ring a
church bell and look at and play the organ and
learn about the vestments worn by the Vicar.
Thanks to Mike Bisset and his team from the
church for giving our children such a wonderful
morning in this beautiful church.
We held our Summer Fair and leavers’ camp
over the last weekend. We had beautiful weather
for the Summer Fair but the campers did get
rained on heavily for about half an hour!! We
attended leavers’ assemblies and leavers’
concerts with a little sadness that our wonderful
pupils will be moving on to their new schools.
The children all received a small gift as they
leave the school to remind them of their time at
Tylers Green First School. This links to our very
special teddy in our bell tower who watches
over the school at all times! I hope that the
children’s memories of TGFSwill remain with
them as they start on the next stage of their
learning journey. We also sid goodbye to staff
leavers and wish them happiness in the future.
Our pupils have become the confident,
independent young people with a thirst for
learning and a positive, motivated and
resilient attitude just as I knew they would
three years ago when they began their
school journey with us. It has been a real
pleasure to be part of their learning and life
journey. Mrs J Dieppe, Headteacher,
The P&TG Village Pre-school
Our Quiz night in June was a resounding
success and we raised £750 ! Thank you to
all involved, including Eddie Bellamy at
the Sports & Social Club for letting us use
their premises. The money raised will
subsidise an end of term trip to Bekonscot
for all of our children.
We are currently setting up a sensory
area in the Pre-school which all the
children can access but it will particularly
benefit those children with sensory
Little Oaks
At the end of a busy and exciting year, the Class
of 2018 graduated at Little Oaks Two in
mid-July. What a fantastic year the children
have had at all Little Oaks locations in the
villages.
The teachers experience mixed emotions as
always; it’s hard to say goodbye, and yet we’re
so proud of each and every one of these
amazing children as they move on to the next
stage of their learning journey!
