A Final Word from the Editor How does it happen that another year is about to evaporate in the blink of an eye? It seems like it was just yesterday that we were preparing for Kansas City. And now it's on to Richmond, VA. Speaking of Richmond, WOW, is Virginia Alley 3 ever organized under the helm of Sandra Winstead, convention chair. We just finished the fall board meeting where we met in Richmond at the convention hotel. This is the same hotel that hosted the "Racing To Richmond" convention is 2008. The Alley is well on its way to having a very successful and spooky convention. So get in the mood for "Catching the Spirit of Richmond." Alley 3 knows how to put on a convention. It was interesting to watch these new members not only find their way, but to also take the bull by the horns and jump in, clown shoes first. They tackled tough issues with some surprising results. I'd also like to report to you that I have asked the board to begin a search for a new business manager and web master. Even with the help of staff, I have found that without Pat, I can not perform to my satisfaction all of the duties required of those positions. The time required simply does not exist. There just aren't enough hours in the day, nor are there enough days in the week. I will continue on as the editor of your New Calliope magazine. All Alleys who have 100% COAI Membership may purchase ads at the lowest rate available less 10%. For more details, contact Tom. As the editor, I am asking for your help. On page 40, you will see a request for editorial material. You clowns have great talents and ideas. You all know interesting clowns with colorful backgrounds.
