Kiwanis awards scholarship
to Priory graduate

2018 Kiwanis Earl Collins $1000 Scholarship

Rockwood names new director
of learning development
In July, Rockwood

her new position as
Rockwood’s director of
learning development.
As director, Trotier
will be responsible for

in the district. This new role will also take
of development on new learning opportunities
for students. Trotier believes her
experience as a principal, teacher and language
arts resource coach will help her in
her new role.
“I’ve done a lot of professional development
over my career,” she said. “As a
teacher I did a lot of studying and presenting.
Then I had a position where I would
deliver professional development for all
of our elementary schools and the language
arts departments at middle and high
schools.”
Trotier said she also has developed
expertise in literacy, grading and reporting,
assessment and Professional Learning
Community [PLC] work from her past
experience.
“I’m really excited about the changes that
are happening in education that are for personalized,
project-based learning for kids,”
she said. “I want to do this job because it
lets me focus on those things 100 percent,
along with supporting educators.”
Trotier is replacing Suzanne Dotta, who
retired.

Bus drivers place near top in
safe driving competition
Parkway bus drivers Jim Dickerson,
Zack Suedmeyer, Greg Zemblidge, Jeff
Parrish and Karen Isaac competed in the
state safe driving competition at the Lake
of the Ozarks on Saturday, June 21 and
Sunday, June 22. The Parkway team placed
fourth in Missouri.
They competed with other bus drivers
from across Missouri in the annual state
safety competition. The event featured 10
driving skills, including a six-minute test
to find six driving defects, parallel parking
and student pickup drills.
