According to police, the three cars had the side windows broken and personal property was removed. In other police news: Aug. 16 • A complainant reported a trespass to vehicle in the 100 block of Skokie at 2:28 p.m. An unknown person(s) entered and caused damage to their locked vehicle. • A complaint of identity theft was reported in the 1300 block of Williamsburg at 6:37 p.m. after the victim reported that personal information was used to purchase a vehicle without their permission. • Michael J. Larkin, 20, of Chicago, was charged with two outstanding warrants from Lake County. A complaint of disturbance was reported in the 1300 block of Shermer at 8:10 p.m. Officers responded to a report of a disturbance and learned that the subject had an outstanding arrest warrant. The subject was processed and transported to court. No bond was set but Larkin has a court date set for 9 a.m. on Sept. 11. • A theft was reported in the 2200 block of Brentwood at 9:21 a.m. after a complainant reported that traffic cones that were purchased and placed at the end of their driveway were taken by unknown person(s). Aug. 15 • Miguel Ochoa, 23, of Chicago, was charged with a warrant service at 1:48 p.m. in the 1100 block of Greenbriar. While an officer was investigating another matter, police learned the subject had an outstanding warrant for their arrest from Will County. The subject was processed and transported to court. No bond was set. • A complainant reported a trespass to vehicle at 2:28 p.m. in the 100 block of Skokie. Unknown person(s) entered a vehicle without permission. Aug. 14 • At 8:58 p.m. retail theft was reported in the 100 block of Skokie. A complainant stated that a male subject took several items of merchandise without paying. • At 9:13 a.m. in the 300 block of Basswood Drive a complaint of deceptive practice was made. A complainant reported receiving a check for the purchase and shipping of an item being sold online. The complainant was advised by bank that the check was fraudulent. There was no monetary loss. • In the 2300 block of Peachtree Lane a suspicious call was reported at MORTGAGE ALERT! LOCK-IN MORE BUSINESS. ADVERTISE LOCALLY. CONTACT THE CLASSIFIED DEPARTMENT 708-326-9170 22ndcenturymedia.com 9:30 a.m. A complainant reported receiving a call from a subject purporting to be from Commonwealth Edison, stating the electricity would be turned off unless an approximately $500 payment (in Green Dot cards) was made. The complainant did not complete the request. No monetary value was lost. • A complainant reported that someone broke the rear driver’s side window of their vehicle between noon and 2:50 p.m. in the 1400 block of Maple Avenue. Various items were removed and U.S. currency. Aug. 13 • A complaint of identity theft was reported in the 1300 block of Eskin at 3:14 p.m. after a complainant reported that personal information was used to open a cellular account. Aug. 11 • A complaint of identity theft in the 1200 block of Mount Vernon was filed at 9:59 a.m. after an unknown person(s) used the complainant’s credit information and made several purchases without permission Aug. 10 • Michael Schultz Jr., 31, of Manteno, was charged with a warrant service at 10:06 p.m. after an officer stopped the vehicle he was driving for using a cell phone. A name check of the driver showed an outstanding arrest warrant from Bureau County. Subject was processed and transported to court. Bond was set at $2,500. • A complaint of suspicious circumstance was reported in the 2000 block of Founders at 12:51 p.m. after a complainant received a telephone call from a subject claiming to be their grandson. The caller claimed that they had been arrested and needed bond money. The complainant reported that they went to their bank and withdrew the funds and sent the funds via FedEx to the address they were given. The complainant stated that the number that they received the call from is no longer being answered. • The report of retail theft at a department store in the 1500 block of Lake Cook Road was reported at 8:04 p.m. after a complainant reported that two females took merchandise from the store without paying for the items.
