Parish Education Board (PEB)
The The Parish Education Board is an advisory Board to the Parish Priest on all matters of
education in the Parish. It brings together representatives from the Parish, in a spirit of
cooperation, with a genuine desire to uphold the teachings of Christ within our Parish.
The specific responsibilities of the Board are to:
• promote the Catholic ethos of the parish and support Parish Religious Education
Programs.
• act as a forum for discussion on matters concerning education in the Schools and in
the Parish.
• support the development and promotion of community
• provide advice on the development and review of policies in the Schools.
• provide advice on budget planning and finance related matters concerning education
in the Parish
• contribute to the selection process for the Principals of the Parish Primary Schools.
Fete
For many years the fete was held annually but in recent times it has moved to every second
year. It was originally held in the Parish Hall but moved to the school grounds during the
1990’s. Many parents took the opportunity to volunteer their services for the fete, especially
those who were unable to help in the school on a regular basis due to work commitments.
Special attractions have included Humphrey B Bear, Thomas the Tank Engine, Greek dancing,
a fruit and vegetable stall, a cake stall, Devonshire teas, trash’n’treasure, a book stall, secondhand
toys, various carnival rides and the famous spinning wheel. During the 1990’s an
international food stall was added to the event with huge success. On one occasion the fete
was held over two days with the Friday evening being held at Glen Huntly Park, complete with
fireworks, and then all stalls being moved back to the school grounds for the Saturday.
