North Canterbury
Business
Awards
2018
Every business is very deserving
of the accolades they took
home and they truly reflect the
purpose of the Business Awards:
to celebrate exceptional North
Canterbury Businesses.
A celebration of exceptional North
Canterbury businesses was held at a
glitzy gala dinner and ceremony in Ohoka
last Friday evening.
The 2018 North Canterbury Business
Awards attracted the largest number of
entries to date, with 95 entries reduced
to 60 for the awards evening, an event
which is held every two years.
In 2016 there were 70 entries.
Business Awards organiser Miles Dalton
of Enterprise North Canterbury says the
2018 Awards were a huge success.
“The calibre of businesses in the North
Canterbury region is incredibly high,
making our judges’ job very difficult.”
“Every business is very deserving of
the accolades they took home and they
truly reflect the purpose of the Business
Awards: to celebrate exceptional North
Canterbury Businesses.”
Woodend-based business, Totalspan
North Canterbury, carried off the
MainPower Supreme Award.
The award winning business builds a
range of hardwearing, affordable and
versatile structures, characterised by
functionality that franchise winners
Jamie and Ellen Petersen have worked
hard to reflect in their services.
James and Ellen have owned the
franchise since January 2014, with
its strengths built on strong values, a
team culture and health and safety.
The North Canterbury News People’s
Choice winner went to Stirling Sports
Rangiora, a business that opened its
doors on High Street 18 months ago,
bringing top sports brands to North
Canterbury.
However, its strength isn’t just its stock.
Customers keep coming back for the
service and technical advice offered by
owners Brad and Alice Mackenzie and
their team.
