The Bachelor of Audio Engineering and Production is a three-year applied degree, designed to equip graduates with the necessary skills to work in the music and audio-related industries in New Zealand and overseas. Programme Leader, Dr Oliver Hancock says the Bachelors degree programme is an exciting opportunity to provide a broader Young leader recognised SELWYN YOUTH Council chairwoman Paige Sullivan’s leadership and work in the community has been recognised with a Young Totara Award. She was presented the award recently by the Lincoln Rotary Club for her outstanding contribution to youth -orientated programmes within <strong>Selwyn</strong> and throughout New Zealand. The award is from Rotary clubs and aims to encourage role models throughout the country. Miss Sullivan, a Lincoln High School student, was nominated by Lincoln Rotary Club member Murray Allison. He said the award publicly recognises the positive achievements of young people and their significant contributions by youth to the life and well-being of their community. The award is for people under the age of 21. The Rotary club has begun planting totara trees to commemorate each award it has sponsored. The trees were donated by the Kiwiflora Nurseries. Mr Allison said the Rotary club was very grateful. The trees were planted at the Lincoln Wetlands on Ellesmere Rd. Earlier this year Lincoln University student Libby Twist planted the first tree. Libby was nominated for a and deeper education in audio and music production. “We’ve seen a lot of changes to the audio industry in recent years, with advances in technology and changes in the way it’s used. MAINZ is ready to prepare graduates for this rapidly evolving employment market.” Across the three years of the degree students will progress from first year to some elective pathways in year two, to a more flexible third year involving a capstone project. As well as the core audio engineering and electronic music production components, elective courses include an increased focus on NEW LIFE: Lincoln Rotary Club president Bill Penno, Young Totara Award winner Paige Sullivan and club member Murray Allison planting a totara.
