MY SPACE
...........................................
We have around 120 product
lines ranging from toilet
cleaner to pumpkin seeds,
loose-leaf tea to tooth brushes,
chocolate to chia seeds. We
source most of our products
from Infinity Foods and other
local companies. Our teas and
coffees are direct trade and
are from Sussex suppliers, our
linseed comes from The Flax
Farm in Sussex, and we have
chocolate from two Sussex chocolatiers. Our
ketchup and raspberry jams are made in small
batches in Worthing and the jars are returned to
be used again.
We’ve yet to find a plastic-free supplier
of pasta, so we’ve made a
decision not to sell it at the
moment. We can only buy
it in five-kilo bags and you
could buy that yourself. We
buy wholesale in 25-kilo paper
sacks and we’ll only buy items
packaged in plastic if we can
cut down significantly on
packaging to the individual
customers. We’ve asked our
herb and spice supplier to send
our orders packaged in paper only and we’ve
created a contract to say that we’ll accept the risk
if it’s damaged. We’re trying to change the supply
chain. As told to Lizzie Lower by Charlotte Cross
