to be most problematic. He
understands that it’s frustrating
to be broken down, and
he wants to help farmers get
back up and running as fast
as possible. He becomes a
friend, someone who can be
relied upon and trusted, and
someone who is willing to go
above and beyond to help.
Those are traits Marty Spies
has kept in mind in his 25
years as the parts manager for
Kunau Implement in DeWitt.
About eight years ago, he
retired from farming his own
80 acres, which he’d done for
three decades.
“That helped tremendously,”
Spies said of his farming.
“I had a lot of hands-on experience.
I can relate to what
people are going through in
the fields.”
