title in first round of postseason

Having only played
Shepherd’s Crook Golf
Course once before, the
Scouts got in one round
of practice prior to the Antioch
Regional.
That practice paid off as
Lake Forest won the Antioch
Regional Oct. 2 with a
team score of 345 at Shepherd’s
Crook Golf Course.
Libertyville finished second
just five strokes behind
the Scouts.
Senior golfer Isabella
Martino won the regional
outright by shooting a low
78. Gianna Martino had the
second-best score of the
Scouts with an 88, Chloe
Lee shot a 89 and Clare
Green rounded out the
Scouts play with a 90.
The Scouts moved on
as a team to Huntley Sectional
play Tuesday, Oct.
9 at Blackstone Golf Club
in Marengo. Results of the
sectional were not available
at time of press.

Scouts, and 107 other runners,
on the 3-Mile Varsity
Run at the Antioch invitational
Sept. 29. Schmitt
finished in 15 minutes, 45.2
seconds.
As a team Lake Forest
finished sixth, with 187
points, out of 16 teams.
Warren Township took the
top prize at the invite, with
57 points.

and Eleanor VanAntwerp
each scored a goal for
Lake Forest.
In addition to strong
offensive play, the midfield
play of Addie Sidles,
Hanekamp and McGowan
allowed the Scouts to maintain
possession of the ball
for the majority of the game.
