LONG TERM SUSTAINABILITY
Growing sustainably
As reported in our Financial Accounts for 2017-2018, WHISE has again run a fiscally responsible year. Like many other
organisations in our field, WHISE sought to diversify its income and revenue streams beyond the resources provided by
our core funding to other government funding sources and increase our fee for service income through consultancy and
training (Figure 7).
Telling charities
they should
diversify their income
streams is a little like
telling football teams
they should score more
goals – much easier said
than done. “
In 2017-2018 WHISE was generously supported in its work through
the following funding programs. The Board, Management and partners
of WHISE thank these programs for their support of our work.
• Department of Health and Human Services for 16 Days of Activism
Against Gender-Based Violence (Victoria Against Violence Grant)
• Department of Health and Human Services for WHISE’s core funding
(incorporating Sexual and Reproductive Health and the Integrated
Health Promotion Plan)
• Department of Premier and Cabinet for the Empowered and Respectful
Communities Project
• Department of Health and Human Services and Department of Premier
and Cabinet for the Prevention of Violence Against Women Strategy
• Department of Social Services for the Settlement Services Program.
