Head to Cottiers to hear renowned Celtic band
Bahookie 'The Fire and The Fiddle'. This recent
tour has taken the band all over the world. These
prestigious musicians blend folk/ceilidh music
with urban dance and rock, producing a unique
Scottish sound. With these guys at the helm,
those dancing feet aren’t going to stay still for
long.
Finally, oh the sparkle of a Christmas party
dress! It’s one of the highlights of the year,
getting dressed up for the annual knees up. We
know that The Gatsby Club ball is a huge event
in the summer. But the Winter Ball? Well that’s in
a whole other league. Scotland’s biggest 1920’s
themed event is a heady mix of cabaret and club,
where the dress code is go big or go home! Once
in your life you have to attend this candle-lit
event and immerse yourself in a bygone age.
And at Christmas? I can’t think of a more perfect
time to don a flapper dress and shimmy away to
the Charleston.

has a strong focus on retro and vintage items as
well as promoting local, talented crafters.
Along the road, the institution that is Byres
Road Makers Market will be holding their last
monthly market before Christmas in November
so be sure to note the date. This boutique market
showcases everything from jewellery and
cushions, to handmade lampshades. Heading
towards Woodlands, Nice Markets will be
hosting eco friendly gift markets in Nov and Dec.
Pop along to the market and pick up a no guilt
gift, with little packaging, sure to reduce your
ecological footprint. Finally, Tea Green Festive
Markets return to the Botanics in Nov/Dec.
A contemporary craft and design and fine art pop
up event, these gifts are sure to bring a smile on
Christmas morning.
