for Riverside Village residents. The vast majority
of the 199 homes are custom-built to strict guidelines
to ensure they retain their value.
Blanchard and Calhoun’s Will Greene said some
of the cottages have sold in the low $300s while
those along the riverfront may fetch more than
$600,000. Like Riverside Village, Hammond’s
Ferry was deliberately planned to be walkable and
foster a community feel.
“We have strict guidelines that were set when
the property began and we have never wavered
from that,” he said. “Even through the downturn
in the real estate market we held strong to the
core beliefs.”
Ironwood’s rental rates are high for the metro
Augusta market, with one-bedroom efficiencies
starting at $855 a month and two-bedroom carriage
units topping out at $1,800. But the department
developer said renters get a lot for the
money, including built-in niceties, such as a Bocce
ball court, grilling stations, a saltwater pool,
a 24-hour fitness center and a complimentary
coffee bar.
The $33 million complex also has stainless steel
appliances, granite countertops, oversized closets
and built-in washer/dryer units in every apartment.
