EN-54 fire alarm system
features stand-alone alerts
Ramtech Electronics has launched the EN-54
compliant WES3 fire alarm system.
One new feature is the medical alert, allowing
someone to raise a medical emergency from any
call point without having to cause a complete site
evacuation. Also included is the new optional
inspection delay, which gives managers the time to
establish if a false alarm has been raised. This
feature can also be used to organise a staged
evacuation process.
The pre-alarm function provides the ability to
turn off the alarm sounder on other stations and
enable a lower level alert without triggering a full
evacuation.
A full isolation test mode is included,
which means individual call points can
be tested without the need for a full
system alarm.
A range of units make up the
system, including call points,
interface, heat detector, dust
resistant smoke detector, link and
the all-important base station.
The system is compliant with
standards including HSG168,
the Structural Timber
Association Guidelines, and
the Fire Protection Association
Joint Code of Practice and it is
installable to BS5839.

Thermal security cameras
boast 640 x 480 resolution
Flir has expanded its line of FB-Series thermal
security cameras to include the first models with
640 x 480 resolutions. Originally launched in early
2018 with a resolution of 320 x 240, the FB-Series
now has a broader range of resolution and lens
options.
FB-Series is a compact, fixed bullet camera line
that offers wide-to-narrow coverage of commercial
and industrial facilities, reducing the number of
cameras required to monitor fence lines, perimeters
and open areas. The FB-Series reportedly produces
thermal video in conditions including total
darkness, sun glare, smoke, dust, and light fog.
FB-Series cameras are available with built-in
analytics (FB-Series ID) or without analytics
(FB-Series O). Analytics enable better
classification of human and
vehicles, while dismissing
innocuous targets that
might otherwise trigger
alarms.

family also offers
“plug-and-play”
compatibility with
major video
management
systems, including Flir
United VMS, using
hybrid, IP and analogue

Video touchscreen has
energy usuage app option
Urmet’s Max Pro touchscreen is
now available with the option for
a pre-installed energy-monitoring
app, thanks to a partnership with
NetThings.
The Energy Manager app can now be viewed
on the Max Pro touchscreen, providing
residential and small business occupants with
energy use and cost information on the same
screen as their video door entry system. This is
all achieved using the Energy Manager base
unit’s built-in web server and WiFi access point,
with no requirement for local network access or
mobile infrastructure.
Energy Manager is a system for compliance
with the ENE3 energy display requirement and
is capable of monitoring all utilities, including

Digital security chest for
carrying cash on the road
Master Lock has launched a Digital Security
Chest that combats against fire, flooding and
theft, protecting valuables in even the most
extreme emergencies.
The chest can endure temperatures up to
843 Celsius and it is ETL (Electrical Testing
Laboratory) verified, meaning valuables will be
protected against water damage if submerged
or the product will safely float to the surface.
The Digital Security Chest also provides
peace of mind for tradespeople carrying cash
while out on the road keeping contents secure
when left unattended.
The security solution can be programmed
with a combination code from four to six digits
meaning multiple different users can be
granted entry after each use by simply
resetting the numerical password.
