LAST YEAR, during the school
production of Aladdin, it was
clear that if Diamond Harbour
School pupils had three wishes,
one of them would be a bike
track.
Due to the hard work of Matt
Coultas, bike track builder
extraordinaire and ex-Diamond
Harbour student, and friends,
this wish came true.
Pupils soon heard this was taking
place and appeared at school

Bike track wish comes true
at Diamond Harbour School
to help craft the jumps and test
them out.
During the first week back
of term 4, students used their
advocacy and negotiation skills
to lead the development of
protocols around the use of the
track.
Most lunchtimes they can be
now seen flying over the jumps
and twisting around the bends
on their much-loved new bike
track.
Neon lights brighten Halloween
SUMNER’S NAYLAND St
Church hosted their second
neon light party last week.
Organised by the Sumner
Redcliffs Anglican Church, 30
volunteers hosted about 400
visitors over the course of the
three-hour event.
Organisers said they wanted to
provide a fun and safe space for
Sumner children on Halloween
as it was a big night for the community.
Activities this year included
an indoor adventure maze, a
bouncy castle, free sausage sizzle,
free coffee and free candy
floss.
Youth Pastor Cassie Lee said it
was “a great night to meet more
young people in our village.”
​She said the organisers had
received plenty of positive
feedback from parents.
JUMPING: Bouncy castles are always popular,
even on Halloween.
COOKING: Church manager Rick Smith, youth pastor Cam
Haylock and curate John Fox.
CANDY: Costumed trick-or-treaters line up
for candy floss.
