Since 2010, the Lights of Christmas has been fascinating visitors with its stunning lights shows and interactive storytelling. Every evening, from early December until Christmas day, the entire 75-metre façade of St. Mary’s Cathedral is illuminated with vivid 3D projections. Each year’s show centres on a Christmas theme, using light, sound, and animation to impart a seasonal message. And if the show isn’t enough to impress you, the sight of a medieval, Gothic-style cathedral lit up with vibrant colours and 3D images will surely leave you breathless. It’s this juxtaposition of the old and new – the leap into the future while staying firmly rooted to the past – that defines Sydney and the rest of Australia.
