Fun fact: In 2011, CNN listed roti prata as one of the<br />
world’s 50 most delicious food items that should be<br />
tried at least once in a lifetime, calling it “a flipping<br />
great dish”!<br />
Roti means “bread”, and prata means “flat.” A good<br />
prata should be soft inside while crispy outside. CNN<br />
said it well - “Roti prata is flipped and turned and<br />
flipped again before it’s heated over a grill plate. Its<br />
preparation is so theatrical that you’ll feel like dancing<br />
a jig while you’re eating it.”<br />
Egg prata is the most common variant of the plain<br />
prata, which is usually served with mutton curry,<br />
chicken curry, daal (lentil stew), or fish curry.<br />
F.EAST (Flavours of the East) is an innovative<br />
Singaporean start-up that recently created the world’s<br />
first Egg Prata with Fish Curry potato chips. For its<br />
earlier flavours (Hainanese Chicken Rice and Singapore<br />
Laksa), F.EAST won the “Best New Brand” award at the<br />
Asia Food Innovations Awards <strong>2018</strong>.<br />
