In recent years, this has expanded to include sub-awards like The Edge-PEPS Value Creation Excellence Awards, The Edge-PAM Green Excellence Award and The Edge Malaysia Outstanding Property CEO Award, among others. At The Edge Malaysia Property Excellence Awards 2018, Tropicana Corporation gained top honours as the xxth Top Property Developer in Malaysia. These recognitions are awarded based on the quantitative and qualitative attributes of the developer, with the surety that the quantitative attributes of the developers alone are not what earns them the title. With increasingly discerning property buyers, quality and innovation are also top criteria. EVENTS | PROPERTY NEWS TROPICANA ANNOUNCES FINANCIAL RESULTS – FIRST HALF (1H) 2018 23 AUGUST 2018 According to its financial report, Tropicana Corporation Berhad recorded a 29.4% increase in the 1H 2018 profit before tax (PBT) to RM 150.4 million and an increased net profit of 22.4% to RM 94.7 million. However, revenue decreased by 9.6% to RM 734.4 million. During the 1H 2018, Tropicana reached unbilled sales of RM1.0 billion with 15 ongoing projects and an existing landbank of 923.1 acres. With the launch of W Hotel Kuala Lumpur as well as a commercial shop lot phase in Kota Kemuning and the fourth landed residential phase in Kajang, the developments will contribute positively to the Group’s earnings for the remainder of the financial year 2018. 49 NOVEMBER/DECEMBER 2018 | TM
