7.2.2.4 EFFICIENCY AND EFFECTIVENESS OF INTERNAL CONTROL<br />

The HRCOM has effectively and efficiently executed the following responsibilities:<br />

i. Periodically reviewed and approved new human resource policies of the College.<br />

ii. Monitored the College performance against its HR or workforce plan.<br />

iii. Reviewed the total compensation practices of the College.<br />

iv. Monitored the performance management and development systems and their impact on individual and organisational performance.<br />

v. Reviewed and approve the organisational structure and post establishment of the College.<br />

vi. Monitored the College performance against defined strategic HR targets.<br />

vii. Monitored systems and procedures for all Council-approved human resources and employment equity policies<br />

viii. Monitored the management development programmes of the College.<br />

Reviewed and reported to the full Council, with recommendations, the following:<br />

i. the ethical standards of the College to ensure that Management has identified the values that determine acceptable behaviour in the College and<br />

has put in place a process that ensures these values are reflected in actions that are taken within the College.<br />

ii. the periodic review of the College’s Code of Ethics and Conduct.<br />

iii. compliance under the College’s Code of Ethics and Conduct.<br />

7.2.2.5 CONCLUSION<br />

The HRCOM fully supports the College in its vision, as embodied in the strategic documents, and in its journey of improved service delivery to the<br />

students of the College.<br />

7.2.2.6 APPRECIATION<br />

The HRCOM expresses its sincere appreciation to the Council, Accounting Officer, Management, Officials, Auditor-General South Africa and the Human<br />

Resource Unit for their support to the HRCOM during the year under review.<br />
