SPECIAL EVENTS<br />

• FRIENDS OF THE LIBRARY WINTER BOOK SALE - Saturday, <strong>December</strong><br />

1 st , 9 AM to 12 Noon; Annex, next door to the library. Discover great<br />

bargains on gently-used adult and children’s books, magazines, DVDs<br />

and videos, all at prices that are hard to beat. Prices range from 25¢ for<br />

paperback books up to $5 for select hardback books.<br />

• CROCHET WORKSHOP FOR BEGINNERS - Saturday, <strong>December</strong> 8 th ,<br />

9 AM to 12 Noon, Meeting Room. In this hands-on adult craft class for<br />

individuals aged 16 and above, library staff member Marie Picon will<br />

describe essential tools, materials and techniques used for crocheting.<br />

Learn about the different yarns that can be used for varying effects and<br />

how crochet hooks differ from other types of needlework tools. Those<br />

attending the program will master multiple stitches, practice crocheting<br />

in the round and receive ideas for using their new skills in simple projects.<br />

Materials for the class will be provided thanks to the generous support<br />

of the Friends of the Bob Lutts Fulshear/Simonton Branch Library. No<br />

previous crochet experience is necessary. Reservations are required.<br />

• FULSHEAR BOOK CLUB - Will resume in January.<br />

• FULSHEAR NIGHT READERS GUILD - Will resume in January.<br />

Young Adult Programs Teens Grades 9-12<br />

• YA: STITCH STUDIO FOR TEENS - Wednesday, <strong>December</strong> 5 th , 4<br />

PM, Meeting Room. Teens in grades 9 through 12 will learn different<br />

embroidery stitches and make a frame-worthy work of art. All supplies<br />

for this workshop will be provided thanks to the generous support of the<br />

Friends of the Bob Lutts Fulshear/Simonton Branch Library.<br />

WEEKLY CHILDREN’S PROGRAM<br />

• Toddler Time - Tuesdays at 10:15 AM, offers caregiver/child activities,<br />

stories and songs for older babies, from 12 to 36 months of age. This<br />

activity will NOT take place on <strong>December</strong> 18 th and 25 th .<br />

• Story Time - Wednesdays at 10:15 AM, 3 to 6 years of age, presents<br />

stories, movies and participate in age-appropriate craft activities. This<br />

activity will NOT take place on <strong>December</strong> 19 th and 26 th .<br />

• After-School Breaks - 2 nd Thursday at 4:30 PM - Crafts, movies,<br />

stories for school-aged children in grades 1 through 5. <strong>The</strong> program on<br />

<strong>December</strong> 13 th will be “Candy-Cane Deer Ornaments.” Materials will be<br />

provided through the generous support of the Friends of the Bob Lutts<br />

Fulshear/Simonton Branch Library.<br />
