SPECIAL EVENTS
• FRIENDS OF THE LIBRARY WINTER BOOK SALE - Saturday, December
1 st , 9 AM to 12 Noon; Annex, next door to the library. Discover great
bargains on gently-used adult and children’s books, magazines, DVDs
and videos, all at prices that are hard to beat. Prices range from 25¢ for
paperback books up to $5 for select hardback books.
• CROCHET WORKSHOP FOR BEGINNERS - Saturday, December 8 th ,
9 AM to 12 Noon, Meeting Room. In this hands-on adult craft class for
individuals aged 16 and above, library staff member Marie Picon will
describe essential tools, materials and techniques used for crocheting.
Learn about the different yarns that can be used for varying effects and
how crochet hooks differ from other types of needlework tools. Those
attending the program will master multiple stitches, practice crocheting
in the round and receive ideas for using their new skills in simple projects.
Materials for the class will be provided thanks to the generous support
of the Friends of the Bob Lutts Fulshear/Simonton Branch Library. No
previous crochet experience is necessary. Reservations are required.
• FULSHEAR BOOK CLUB - Will resume in January.
• FULSHEAR NIGHT READERS GUILD - Will resume in January.
Young Adult Programs Teens Grades 9-12
• YA: STITCH STUDIO FOR TEENS - Wednesday, December 5 th , 4
PM, Meeting Room. Teens in grades 9 through 12 will learn different
embroidery stitches and make a frame-worthy work of art. All supplies
for this workshop will be provided thanks to the generous support of the
Friends of the Bob Lutts Fulshear/Simonton Branch Library.
WEEKLY CHILDREN’S PROGRAM
• Toddler Time - Tuesdays at 10:15 AM, offers caregiver/child activities,
stories and songs for older babies, from 12 to 36 months of age. This
activity will NOT take place on December 18 th and 25 th .
• Story Time - Wednesdays at 10:15 AM, 3 to 6 years of age, presents
stories, movies and participate in age-appropriate craft activities. This
activity will NOT take place on December 19 th and 26 th .
• After-School Breaks - 2 nd Thursday at 4:30 PM - Crafts, movies,
stories for school-aged children in grades 1 through 5. The program on
December 13 th will be “Candy-Cane Deer Ornaments.” Materials will be
provided through the generous support of the Friends of the Bob Lutts
Fulshear/Simonton Branch Library.
