Impressive entrance for Council Offices
PROJECTS
As part of a major
refurbishment project,
TORMAX was contracted to
install a prestigious
automatic revolving door with
automatic swing door to a local
authority’s Civic Offices in Surrey.
The new entrance system provides
clear and easy access for all staff
and visitors whilst minimising heat
loss from the building, making it a
sustainable solution too.

solution for busy council offices

majority of pedestrians will use the
revolving door whilst the swing door
allows for the delivery of bulky
packages, easy access for less able
users and those with buggies and

Civic Offices have benefited from a
significant internal renovation,
regenerating both staff and public
areas across the ground floor,
providing several public services
within the same location.
The impressive three-wing
automatic revolving door is driven
by the powerful, high torque 5201
operator. Precision engineered at
the TORMAX HQ in Switzerland, the
5201 is a technologically advanced
drive that delivers exceptional
reliability year after year, thanks to
impeccable design credentials that
minimise maintenance requirements.

deblocking port and robust start-up functionality.
The clever design means the new UPS3 can be
used not only in system installations but also
inside many of the UK’s domestic boilers. Simply
scan the old pump with the new Grundfos GO
Replace smartphone app and it will tell you if the
UPS3 is a compatible fit. This gives you the chance
to fix even integrated pump issues in one visit,
saving you time and your customer money.

The swing door is powered by the
TORMAX 1201 door drive which has
similar reliability credentials and can
be found installed in busy locations
worldwide.
User friendly keypads for both
entrances allow staff to adapt door
movement to match foot traffic
levels and weather conditions,
minimising energy consumption and
ensuring clear through-flow of
pedestrians, at all times.
The revolving door also features
self-monitoring sensors that
automatically adjust door movement
to compensate for external
influences such as increased wind
conditions, or a build- up of dirt for
example. If an emergency should
lead to power failure, the revolving
door can be used manually to ensure
unrestricted egress.
