Serwaa: I was born into an average
family in which my siblings and I were
taught such values as hard-work and
humility. I went through the same
ups and downs that all regular
people go through. My
experiences whiles growing up
have shaped who I have become
and am so grateful to everyone
who contributed to my
upbringing.
Obimanso: How did media started
for you?
Serwaa: My foray into
mainstream media practice was
triggered by a chance encounter. It
started when I got an invitation to be
a pundit on GH One TV's fashion and
entertainment programme, Gliteratti
which has Berla Mundi as host. I was
later introduced to Nana Aba
Anamoah who had just come to Gh
One TV from TV3. She spoke to me
about rebranding the station and
doing news and current affairs.Then
later started as a production assistant
on her show ‘State of affairs’, I
became a producer and She later came
up with the idea of trying my hands at
news casting. The rest they say is
history.
Obimanso: What have been your

Serwaa: My career is still in its
formative stages but the Television
Female Newscaster of the Year Award
I won, is easily the standout
achievement for me. It is a significant
milestone to the extent that I emerged
in the midst of competition from
some established names in news
casting. I also believe that I have added
value to the newsroom at GH One
TV.
Obimanso: Who do you look up to?
Serwaa: There are quite a number of
people, past and present, in the
broadcasting space who I draw
inspiration from but my biggest role
model is Nana Aba Anamoah. This is
not because she has been the force
behind my progress, but because she
is a media professional of impeccable
quality and there are few who compare
to her in the media industry in Ghana
today.
Obimanso: Where do you see yourself in
five years from now?
Serwaa: I am biding my time at the
moment and learning as much as
possible on the job. I hope to become
an established name in the Ghanaian
