The Voice's Choice
While walking down 1100 Valota Road in Redwood
City, California on November 27th, 1993, at
approximately 11 AM, and carrying the mail on his daily
mail route, Pastor Robinson heard an audible voice say,
“I want you to begin a work and call it Breath of Life
Praise and Worship Center.”
“I knew it was God. I responded immediately. After
consulting and making preparation for three years
with my Pastor, I obeyed and relocated my family and
returned to the greatest city in the world, Lake Charles,
LA. My call to service as Senior Pastor of Breath of Life
Praise and Worship Center for the past twenty-one years
has taught me how rich and rewarding the mandate to
serve really is.”
“Service for me is critical outside of my local church
also,” he says.
In 2015, Pastor Robinson developed Gospel in
the City, greatest gospel magazine platform in local
television that highlighted individuals who serve
throughout our community.
“I’ve interviewed so many who serve with
passion; authors, artists, business owners,
ministry leaders and those in the medical field,
just to name a few.”
Currently, Gospel in The City Radio can be heard on
KZWA 104.9 every Tuesday, 6:30 PM-7 PM

My Greatest Calling is ‘Service’
“Twenty nineteen (2019) is here and as
in past years, it calls out to each of us to
pay attention to detail, so for the next three
hundred sixty-five days, commit to what you do
great. It will certainly call out to you expecting
a response.”
Pastor Mike Robinson serves our community
from several platforms; Breath of Life Praise and
Worship Center, Gospel in the City (television &
radio) and community youth.
“I am sixty-three and will be sixty- four soon and I
continuously ask myself, “What more can I do? Who
needs to be served more?” Pastor Robinson says, “I have
really been focusing on what more I can do to serve.”
Throughout the years, he reaches out and serves youth.
“Youth are inspirational, and I feel their efforts
should not go unnoticed.”
This has been such a blessing for him. It offers him
opportunities to partner with various organizations and
see the great work that they do.
Our present and future generations call out to us with
responsibility nudging us to do our part.
