OSH to expand wings<br />
across SAARC<br />
South Asia’s largest trade show for the Occupational<br />
Safety & Health industry (OSH) brought together<br />
several internationally acclaimed exhibitors,<br />
consultants, business experts and key officials under<br />
one roof.<br />
The 7th edition of OSH India 2018 with<br />
the theme ‘Augmenting Awareness<br />
and Necessity of Well-being at<br />
Workplace’, was organised by UBM,<br />
India at the Bombay Exhibition Centre,<br />
Mumbai, from 29-30 November.<br />
It proved to be an ideal platform<br />
for the players from the domain to<br />
update themselves on the best global<br />
practices in the area of safety and<br />
health at the workplace and possible<br />
solutions to challenges that could<br />
arise.<br />
The renowned annual exhibition<br />
attracted a congregation of 130<br />
exhibitors and over 150 renowned<br />
Indian and global brands. It was<br />
inaugurated in the presence of<br />
key dignitaries that included Mr.<br />
Hemant Sapra, President of SAMA;<br />
Mr H.R. Jagannath, CEO of Air India<br />
Engineering Services Ltd; and Mr<br />
Mike Robinson, Chief Executive of the<br />
British Safety Council.<br />
The guests of honour included Mr<br />
Lalit Gabhane, Director-General<br />
of the National Safety Council; Mr<br />
Santosh Warrick, CFO and Advisor<br />
to MIDC; and Mr Sudhakar Prabhu<br />
Rathod, Director of DISH, Government<br />
of Maharashtra.<br />
One of the major announcements<br />
was that OSH, the global brand, was<br />
now extending its wings to the SAARC<br />
region by launching a preview show<br />
in Dhaka, Bangladesh, scheduled for<br />
April 18-20, <strong>2019</strong>.<br />
The event was marked by a two-day<br />
industry conference on Occupational<br />
Safety & Health. The OSH India safety<br />
awards, which acknowledged the<br />
contribution of key stakeholders in<br />
the occupational safety and health<br />
domain, were also presented during<br />
this time.<br />

This year, OSH awards received a<br />
total of 120 nominations from across<br />
industry verticals that included<br />
construction, pharma, chemicals,<br />
FMCG, BPO, banking, refineries,<br />
oil & gas, automobiles, logistics<br />
& transport, power, SMEs, agro,<br />
healthcare, food, iron & steel, IT, the<br />
rubber industry and more.<br />
Since their inception, these awards<br />
have had a contributory role in building<br />
competitiveness among applicants,<br />
encouraging innovation and<br />
promoting and establishing thought<br />
leadership within the occupational<br />
safety and health industry in India.<br />
