Parenting... it’s often described as the hardest yet most rewarding<br />
experience a person can have! An opportunity to nurture from infancy<br />
- promoting and supporting all the physical, emotional, social and<br />
intellectual needs of our children, and empowering them into adulthood...<br />
and yes: it sure can be a busy rollercoaster of incredible moments,<br />
euphoric highs, and of course more challenging and tougher times<br />
too. <strong>Selwyn</strong> Parenting Network (SPN) was born from a desire and belief<br />
that all families should have access to active support, resources and<br />
understanding. We know that parenting can be tough, but we also know<br />
that with the ‘right help at the right time’ the lives of parents, carers and<br />
children can be transformed.<br />
Since the inception of our charitable organisation over six years ago,<br />
the purpose of our work has remained the same: To strengthen <strong>Selwyn</strong><br />
communities by providing support to local parents and caregivers of<br />
children of any age. We have fast become a local ‘parent advice bureau’<br />
within the rapidly expanding <strong>Selwyn</strong> region: a network that can facilitate<br />
your needs as a parent/caregiver and put you in touch with many specific<br />
service providers and wider community organisations, all of whom can<br />
support and empower you to fulfil your role with the skills, resources and<br />
contacts that you need.<br />
As we forge forward into <strong>2019</strong> we welcome you to follow us on our various<br />
digital platforms - including our social media accounts on Facebook &<br />
Instagram - where you can keep up to date with all that we are planning<br />
within the community; access links to valuable resources and informative<br />
articles; book places for one-off guest speaker evenings, and of course<br />
attend our two annual flagship events including Children’s Day NZ and<br />
Family Fun Day in October.<br />
To this end, we warmly invite you ALL to be a part of our <strong>2019</strong> SPN<br />
Children’s Day Event on Sunday 3rd March (12pm - 3pm) proudly<br />
brought to you with the support of our principal sponsors Faringdon. We<br />
encourage you and the whole family to pack your drink bottles, sunhats<br />
and picnic rugs, and head on down to enjoy a wide range of fun free<br />
activities and entertainment at our venue of choice: Foster Park, Rolleston.<br />
