Billy Ocean takes to the stage at
Burghley House this summer
The annual music concert returns to Burghley House this June
with performances from international singer Billy Ocean.
Billy had a string of international pop hits in the 1970s and
1980s. He was one of the most popular British R&B singersongwriters
of the early to mid-1980s.
He will be supported on stage by the Voice of ‘M People’
Heather Small. As part of ‘M People’ Heather enjoyed hits
such as, ‘Moving On up’, ‘One Night in Heaven’ and ‘Search
for the Hero’.
Bag It, Bring It, Boost It
It’s the time of year where we want a fresh start,
and nothing feels better than a spring clean,
but don’t throw away your unwanted clothes
and items, donate to East Anglia’s Children’s
Hospices (EACH), which has revealed it takes
over 6,000 bags of donations a week to run
its shops.
As a result, the charity has launched its ‘Bag It,
Bring It, Boost It’ campaign for 2019. EACH has
35 shops across Cambridgeshire, north Essex,
Norfolk and Suffolk that last year generated an
impressive profit of over £1.1 million. However
funds can only be raised with a regular flow
of donations, so once again it has continued
running its successful ‘Bag It, Bring It, Boost It’
campaign this year.

advised the charity is currently in need of
homewares, menswear and toys.
EACH can help provide themed collection
bags, posters and flyers. It can also arrange
collections for any companies, schools or just
large groups that want to participate. For more

The concert will take place on 8 June, with tickets now on
sale from £39.50. Burghley House have previously hosted
top artistes such as Bryan Ferry, Status Quo, UB40 and Jools

Makeover for The Angel Hotel
in Bury St Edmunds
The Angel Hotel, Bury St Edmunds, has closed the door to
its ground floors, including the reception, bar, brasserie,
restaurant and lounge, for the first time in over 50 years as it
begins an extensive £750,000 refurbishment.
Robert Gough, owner of Gough Hotels said: “The Angel plays
a big part in the history of Bury St Edmunds, it’s iconic. But we
did think it was time for a little bit of a face lift. Our plans for
the refurbishment draw inspiration from the past, with a small
nod to Charles Dickens, who mentioned The Angel in The
Pickwick Papers (he stayed in this very building too!)”
The extensive refurbishment begun on 9 January with plans to
relaunch in spring this year. During this time, the hotel will be
offering a breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner service
in a temporary location in the building, and rooms will be
