for February
Art installation by acclaimed
artist Liz West comes to
Hertfordshire
UHArts is bringing Liz West’s stunning
site-specific installation ‘Our Colour
Reflection’ to St Albans Museum +
Gallery from 6 February to 19 March.
With hundreds of mirrors made of
coloured acrylic, the installation will
reflect light and project colour into the historic interior
of the Assembly Room. The installation creates a
conversation between the viewer and the space using
more than 700 mirrors of different colours and sizes, set
at various heights on the floor. Reflecting its surroundings
and bathing the room in colour, the installation is
playful and engaging, elegant and thoughtful. There is
also an element of performance to the work – viewers’
perspectives and experiences are affected by movement
through the space and through time.
