A TASTE
OF LOVE
Nothing says romance like a good
glass of wine. Here’s six of the best
to enjoy on Valentine’s Day…
Written by Matt Dicks
Roses are red, violets are blue, have I got some
amazing wine choices for you! Ok, it’s not
Shakespeare’s finest, but with Valentine’s Day
on the horizon, there’s no better time to hit the
bullseye with your wine choices. However, this
begs the question, what exactly is a romantic
wine?
For me, it’s a tipple that hits the sweet spot that fills the
moment with quality and magic. However, you don’t need
to splash the cash as fine wine isn’t the answer
to everything.
Love it or loath it, the 14th February can be rather
predictable: Champagne, chocolates, flowers and a battle
to get a table in your favourite restaurant. Whether you
rule the roost in the kitchen or pull out all the stops on
a night out, there’s a tipple to suit everyone. However,
if you’ve thought about your lover’s tastes, attentively
chosen a tipple to woo them or considered matching the
wine to a romantic dinner that you’ve made, you can
triple your brownie points in a heartbeat. Plus, we know
that points win prizes on Valentine’s Day! It could make all
the difference.
So here’s a handpicked selection of drinks to help charge
those love batteries, ready to sip and impress:
Mirabeau La Folie Rosé
If your other half enjoys a classy glass of rosé but also
likes a cheeky glass of fizz then pour them a glass of
this sparkling masterpiece. Hailing from Luberon in
central Provence, Mirabeau La Folie Rosé is the perfect
aperitif and pairs beautifully with salads, seafood tapas
and summer fruit desserts.
British Cassis & Prosecco
Sweet at first taste, before the irresistibly
sharp after-kick, British Cassis is the perfect
aperitif served straight, over ice, twists
beautifully into fizzing champagne or
prosecco and is decadent in cocktails.
