Curriculum Gap Analysis, Modalities for DAB & PAC Meetings, Framing Effective Action Items – Dr Shreeranga Bhat Page 3 Dr Shreeranga Bhat Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering, St Joseph Engineering College Dr Shreeranga Bhat holds a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and master’s degree in Engineering Management from MIT, Manipal. Dr Bhat holds a Ph.D degree on the topic ‘Lean Six Sigma’ from VTU, Belagavi. His areas of interest include Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Robust Engineering, Reliability Engineering and Design of Experiments. Dr Bhat is actively involved in the accreditation process and is the IQAC coordinator for the college. Curriculum Gap Analysis, Modalities for DAB & PAC Meetings, Framing Effective Action Items Dr Shreeranga Bhat shed light on Gap Analysis and its relevance to SAR. As a corrective action to the gaps identified ‘Content Beyond Syllabus’ can be conducted. Issues regarding gaps in the syllabus can be raised at PAC meetings and then discussed in DAB meetings. Documentary evidence of the gaps communicated to the university needs to be kept ready during the NBA visit. The key steps to follow are Identify the gap, Create syllabus to bridge the gap, Get approval from the HOD and Stakeholders, Implementation and finally Assessment. He also gave his insights on Curriculum Gap Analysis and Course Gap Analysis. In regards to the topic ‘Modalities for DAB & PAC Meetings’, he said that if the POs and PSOs were addressed in meetings then the minutes of the meeting are to be recorded and communicated to the university. He also mentioned that it is expected to conduct the meeting within 20 days of announcement of results rather than waiting for revaluation results. Addressing the topic ‘Framing Effective Action Items’ he requested the gathering to write the action items scientifically and discussed some of the action items using examples.
