Dr Shreeranga Bhat holds a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical<br />

Engineering and master’s degree in Engineering Management<br />

from MIT, Manipal. Dr Bhat holds a Ph.D degree on the topic<br />

‘Lean Six Sigma’ from VTU, Belagavi. His areas of interest<br />

include Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Robust Engineering,<br />

Reliability Engineering and Design of Experiments. Dr Bhat is<br />

actively involved in the accreditation process and is the IQAC<br />

coordinator for the college.<br />

PAC Meetings, Framing Effective Action Items<br />

Dr Shreeranga Bhat shed light on Gap Analysis and its relevance<br />

to SAR. As a corrective action to the gaps identified ‘Content<br />

Beyond Syllabus’ can be conducted. Issues regarding gaps in the<br />

syllabus can be raised at PAC meetings and then discussed in DAB<br />

meetings. Documentary evidence of the gaps communicated to the<br />

university needs to be kept ready during the NBA visit. The key<br />

steps to follow are Identify the gap, Create syllabus to bridge the<br />

gap, Get approval from the HOD and Stakeholders,<br />

Implementation and finally Assessment. He also gave his insights<br />

on Curriculum Gap Analysis and Course Gap Analysis.<br />

In regards to the topic ‘Modalities for DAB & PAC Meetings’, he<br />

said that if the POs and PSOs were addressed in meetings then the<br />

minutes of the meeting are to be recorded and communicated to<br />

the university. He also mentioned that it is expected to conduct the<br />

meeting within 20 days of announcement of results rather than<br />

waiting for revaluation results.<br />

Addressing the topic ‘Framing Effective Action Items’ he<br />

requested the gathering to write the action items scientifically and<br />

discussed some of the action items using examples. The session<br />

ended with a group activity on writing action items.<br />
