Tai Tapu running festival<br />
to return next month<br />
THE ROADS of Tai Tapu<br />
will be filled with the<br />
sound of hundreds of<br />
running shoes hitting the<br />
ground next month.<br />
The rural community is<br />
hosting the Verdeco Park<br />
Tai Tapu Run Festival on<br />
April 7, which has been<br />
held annually since 1974.<br />
The event – organised by<br />
the New Brighton Olympic<br />
Athletic Club – will include<br />
a 15km competitive race, a<br />
15km fun run, an 8km social<br />
run/walk a 4km family<br />
walk/jog and a 1.6km kids<br />
“dash.”<br />
The athletic club said the<br />
event will be more than<br />
a running and walking<br />
event.<br />
The event aimed to<br />
provide a “fun festival<br />
atmosphere” for<br />
participants and spectators,<br />
the club said.<br />

event had bumper boats,<br />
