From the Village
Fire department responds
to kitchen fire
On the evening of
Wednesday, April 3, the
Fire Department responded
to a 911 call for a kitchen
fire on Blue Hill Terrace.
Fire crews quickly extinguished
the fire, which
started in the dishwasher.
Working smoke detectors
alerted the occupants
to the fire and all were
able to evacuate safely before
the Fire Department’s
arrival.
This serves as a reminder
to check your smoke detectors.
It was also noted that
the dishwasher’s malfunction
that caused the fire was
due to a faulty part, which
had been recalled by the
manufacturer. Fire Chief
Andy Carlson reminds residents
to visit the Consumer
Product Safety Commission
website at www.cpsc.
gov to check for recalls.
but the road will remain
