Field Wind Ensemble receives
perfect score at Illinois contest
Submitted by District 31
The Field Middle
School Wind Ensemble
represented District 31
on March 8 by performing
at the Illinois Grade
School Music Association
District Band Contest
held this year at Wilmette
Junior High School. At
the contest, bands play
selections for three judges
who rate the ensembles on
their technical skill and
musicianship.
For the 10th consecutive
year, the Field Wind
Ensemble received a perfect
score from all three
judges. They were the
only band at the contest
site to receive this honor.
The band performed
“Jig”, by Pierre LaPlante,
“Chorale and Fugue” in F
major, by J.S. Bach and
“His Honor March”, by
Henry Fillmore.
