One Performing Arts<br />
Patricia Paul, the Director and Principal of Studio<br />
One Performing Arts has been teaching dance in<br />
Christchurch for over 25 years. Some of her former<br />
students are international singing star Hayley<br />
Westenra, Kase Craig, soloist with Ballet de National<br />
in Bordeaux France, Sacha Copeland from the Java<br />
Dance Company and Marysa Dalton who was with the<br />
Royal New Zealand Ballet.<br />
Patricia herself trained with the Royal Academy<br />
of Dancing in Bristol from 5 to 15 years of age and<br />
then went on to London where she danced with the<br />
prestigious Ballet Rambert. She has also performed<br />
with the Athens Ballet Theatre, William Carter,<br />
Serge Keaton, Ruth Meyer, Afshin Moffid and Aime<br />
Deligniere to name a few. Before moving to New<br />
Zealand Patricia taught in many countries and in many<br />
different Dance Companies including the American<br />
Festival Ballet, The Athens Ballet Theatre and Studio<br />
C in Los Angeles.<br />
Studio One Performing Arts have classes in New<br />
Brighton, Thorrington, Fendalton and Harewood<br />
and teach Classical Ballet from 3 years old, Jazz and<br />
Tumble from 7 years and Hip Hop and Contemporary<br />
from 11 years old, and starting this term they will<br />
be having a Mums and Littlies class (2 - 3 years old)<br />
in New Brighton and an adult Ballet/Pilates class in<br />
Fendalton. The highlight of every year is the annual<br />

end of year show where all the students get to dress<br />
up and perform on stage in front of their friends and<br />
family.<br />
