OWL Cymru 19100256417 - Theft of Mountain Bike 

Police are appealing for information following the theft of a Carrera Mountain bike, 

stolen from the Penrhos Avenue area of Llandudno Junction. It was stolen sometime on 

the 20th May between 1830 hrs and 1840 hrs. If you have any information contact Police

Attempts to pass on counterfeit currency 

There have been several attempts to use fake currency in Anglesey and Gwynedd 

recently. Remember to check notes with a UV light or pen.

OWL Cymru 19100274898 - Fire in Buckley 

Officers investigating a fire at an address in Burntwood Road, Buckley early morning of 29th May in which a 

woman sadly died, are not treating the incident as suspicious. A spokesman for North Wales Fire and 

Rescue Service has said that the investigation is ongoing. If anyone has any information they are requesting

Caravans broken into in Llanddulas area 

Police would like to make you aware that there has recently been a number of caravans 

broken into in the Llanddulas area since 13th of May. We would like you all to be aware to 

make sure that you keep all your windows and doors locked when not in the caravans and please remove all 

valuables from view in order to help deter anyone that maybe on the lookout for an easy target. 

Should you have any concerns or see anything untoward please contact police at the earliest opportunity.

OWL Cymru - Suspicious Incident - please be vigilant 

We have received a report that at around 0400 hrs a Vehicle pulled up outside a property in the Hazelwood 

Crescent area of Hawarden/Ewloe early one morning recently. The vehicle was there for around 10 

minutes before it drove off. It appeared to be a white BMW vehicle. The property had a new vehicle parked 

in its driveway so there are concerns that they may attempt to steal the vehicle at a later date. Please be 

vigilant and report anything suspicious to police. Dial 101 for non-urgent calls, dial 999 if your call is 

urgent. 

Police Investigating Assault on Woman in Madeira Hill area 

Police are investigating an assault on a woman in broad daylight and appealing for information and 

witnesses to come forward. The reported incident happened at around 5.30pm on Tuesday May 14 on 

Madeira Hill area of Wrexham. If you have any information contact Police by dialling 101

Can you help? Police are investigating a break in at Gaerwen FC sometime between 22/05 & 23/05 whereby 

offenders have forced entry into a porta cabin and stolen food & refreshments. Did you see any suspicious

Incident in Sychdyn—Update 

There was incident in the Pant Glas area of Sychdyn on Bank Holiday Monday. Police attended the incident 

at around 5.30pm. The road was blocked off. Residents stated that there were police in riot gear and a 

firearms car in attendance. 

Police said they were called to the street following a domestic incident. A spokesman said ‘ we were called 

to reports of a domestic incident in Sychdyn at around 5.30pm. A man was arrested for a domestic 

related offence’

OWL Cymru 19100269714—Appeal for information following report of Sexual Assault 

A woman has reported being assaulted after she was offered a lift by a stranger on Sunday evening, on 

Mold Road, Buckley. 

Inspector Steve Owens, of the South Flintshire policing team, said that the woman had been out drinking 

that afternoon and was waiting at a bus stop on Mold Road when a red coloured 4x4 type vehicle pulled 

up. 

She assumed it to be a taxi. The driver offered her a lift and she accepted, jumped in and was heading 

towards her home address. The male has put his hands between her legs on numerous occasions. She 

asked him to stop touching her, he did and she asked him to stop the car, he did and she got out 

The incident occurred around 6.30pm and police are looking for a Burgundy coloured Nissan Qashqai or 

similar. 

The man is described at white and in his late 50s or 60s. He is of medium build with a bald head, clean 

shaven and well presented and was wearing blue jeans.

Police Updates 

Officers executed a warrant in Blaenau Ffestiniog morning of 30th May. 2 men from Merseyside were 

arrested concerning the supply of drugs and cultivation of cannabis. Thank you for the information that 

meant we could take this action. Keep it coming in, help us pick who’ll be next! 

A large Abnormal Load travelling from Staffs to Connahs Quay power station 

at the weekend will be escorted on the A55 westbound Flintshire to J32 & 

the A5026 layby Holywell between 8pm & 9.30pm on Saturday and East A55 

& A5119 & A548 in Flint between 8am & 9.30am on Sunday.

Bella is a 6 year old British Bull dog looking for a 

retirement home 

She loves human company and is good with children. 

We’re looking for a quieter home for her where she can 

spend her remaining years being pampered and loved. 

She only has limited eye sight and will require regular 

treatment for this but we will cover the cost from our 

vets. We’re looking for her to be an only dog she is good 

with other dogs but her time in life we feel a younger dog 

would be to much for her, she just wants love food and 

sleep

MISSING PERSONS/UPDATES 

STILL MISSING Colin Purton AGE 78 YEARS, from Penyffordd 

Police have concerns for Colin Purton 78 years, missing from Penyffordd 

area near Broughton. Colin is described as 5' 10" of Slim frail build, Short 

white hair and wears a flat cap. He has access to a bus pass and a train 

pass so could have travelled. He has been missing since 22nd May. Mr 

Purton is known to have travelled by bus from Mold on Thursday 23rd 

May. The CCTV footage shows him getting off the Number 4 bus on 

Saltney High Street outside The Lucky Chinese Takeaway, just before 

8am. He has a walking stick and was last seen in a distinctive red coat. 

Police are requesting that people keep an eye out for him and report any

Capel Curig area. Joe Cholerton aged 15 originally from the Manchester area. He was seen twice at 18:30 

29/05/19 wearing green and black joggers, a puffy green jacket and blue trainers. Any information

MISSING: Dylan Jones, 29 from Carmarthenshire. Has links to Penrhyn Bay. 5'8", med build 

with dark hair (poss tied back). Last seen 8pm on 26 May. Any info please call 101 ref 25300 

OWL Cymru/ X073141 - Missing Person Police have concerns for Christopher David Jones, 38 

from Holyhead who has gone missing recently. Christopher is about 5ft 10in tall and of slim

DOORSTEP COLD CALLERS 

We would like to remind residents that purchasing or using the services of cold 

callers can be risky for numerous reasons. If something goes wrong with the 

service, or product, they may prove difficult to trace. Some traders will quote a 

price but then ask for substantially more money when the job has been completed. 

Some work can be carried out and completed to a poor, or even unsafe standard. Some cold callers are 

also linked to burglaries, or other criminal activity. Police are asking for residents to be vigilant and wary 

when dealing with cold callers at the door and to report any suspicious persons or activity to them as soon 

as possible. 

They are also asking for residents to pass this information on to older, or more vulnerable neighbours as 

they may get targeted. 

Reputable, local traders can be found via North Wales Trading Standards Services ‘Buy With 

Confidence’ Scheme https://www.buywithconfidence.gov.uk 

Scam Report 

Trading Standards have become aware of a potential scam relating to 

the sale and purchase of land in Florida. The public should be very 

wary of promises of investment opportunities. 

If planning to purchase land anywhere, you should do lots of research 

and get trusted legal advice from an independent solicitor or legal 

advisor. 

Do not agree to anything or sign any documents before thoroughly 

checking out all details. 

Members of the public have previously lost lots of money to this type of scam when either the land did not 

exist or there turned out to be hidden costs attached to the purchase

SCAM TELEPHONE CALLS 

A call has been received claiming that the residents internet provider has been compromised and will be 

cut off in 24 hours and to press 1 to speak with someone. Came from an 0208 number. The recipient put 

phone down as they were aware it was a scam. 

Another resident has had a call claiming to be from BT saying that the residents internet had been 

compromised and that other people were using their internet. The caller then passed the resident onto an 

‘engineer’. The engineer went on to ask what devices they used the internet on at home. 

Thankfully, the recipient put the phone down as they thought the call was suspicious. The caller rang back 

three times after that but the resident did not answer. 

The resident had another call saying they were from BT and that there was a problem with the line and that 

they were going to terminate the internet connection. The resident put the phone down on the caller. 

They continued to phone again but the resident didn't answer. The 

resident still has internet connection and is aware that this is a scam.

A resident has had a telephone call from a person claiming they were phoning up from Telephone 

Preference Service and asking them to ‘confirm’ their Visa card details. The number they phoned from is 

not recognised. The Telephone Preference Service is FREE and would not require any bank card details. Visit

VOLUNTEERS WEEK 1st—7th June 

We have over 90,000 community volunteers throughout 

North Wales who give their time to help in keeping crime 

down and support safety of our Neighbourhoods, 

Schools, Businesses, Parks, Farms, Pubs, Shops . . . . 

Volunteers have a positive impact on the lives of people and make a 

difference to the ir safety and wellbeing . It is with pride of all of those 

who give some thing to help keep North Wales safe that I have reserved this page in our Crime 

Watch News to say a huge, heartfelt thank you. 

We currently have 52 volunteers who give their time help us each week in our base unit and 

community beat shops to keep services going. Again thank you.
