GOT in Benidorm<br />
Joan’s a delight<br />
Seeing photos of the<br />
glamorous Hollywood<br />
legend Joan Collins aged<br />
86, oozing summer chic<br />
in a gorgeous teal printed<br />
dress on Tuesday, as she<br />
strolled through St Tropez<br />
with husband Percy Gibson,<br />
thirty-two years her junior,<br />
made me remember a little<br />
anecdote about her.<br />
Joan famously joined<br />
the cast of ITV’s Benidorm<br />
for a couple of seasons,<br />
playing hotel owner, Crystal<br />
Hennessey-Vaas.<br />
I once asked writer and<br />
creator DerrenLitten what<br />
she was like to work with,<br />
expecting him to tell me how<br />
horrific the experience had<br />
been and how she’d made<br />
diva like demands on the<br />
production team.<br />
To the contrary, he told me,<br />
she was an absolute delight<br />
and a true professional, who<br />
always turned up on set at<br />
the correct time, knowing all<br />
her lines.<br />
She was always polite and<br />
courteous to other cast<br />
members, crew and extras<br />
were happy to pose for<br />
photos and sign autographs<br />
as long as no one tried to<br />
touch her ….. Unlike some of<br />
her less well known co-stars<br />
apparently.<br />
But is it<br />
Benidorm?<br />
Game of Thrones may be over,<br />
but it never seems to be far from<br />
the minds of celebrity followers.<br />
Earlier this week reports on<br />
social media suggested actress<br />
Sophie Turner, Sansa Stark in the<br />
series, in the company of some<br />
friends, said to include co-star<br />
Maisie Williams (Arya Stark) had<br />
arrived in Benidorm on a girls<br />
holiday. The party were alleged<br />
to have flown into <strong>Alicante</strong> from<br />
London on a private jet before<br />
travelling onto a Benidorm Hotel.<br />
Photos of the group on rooftops<br />
and beside pools hashtagging the<br />
girls in Benidorm appeared on<br />
Twitter, but the accommodation<br />
wasn’t named and the only<br />
buildings in view were a couple<br />
of tall skyscrapers surrounded by<br />
palm trees. Eventually, it was all<br />
revealed to be fake news, when<br />
one pic showed a lollipop shaped<br />
tower, pinpointing the photo to<br />
Berlin rather than Benidorm.<br />
Sophie Turner was married to Joe<br />
Jonas in a ceremony in Las Vegas<br />
on May 1st apparently, but maybe<br />
she wasn’t in Las Vegas after all.<br />
Perhaps she actually got married<br />
at the three star, Hotel Las Vegas,<br />
in Calle Tomas Ortuno, Benidorm<br />
instead, who can be sure?<br />

Katy and Taylor<br />
at peace<br />
Ten<br />
years after they became inseparable,<br />
and following several fallouts and public<br />
spats, it seems that Katy Perry and Taylor<br />
Swift have finally made peace with each<br />
other.<br />
Now the pair have officially put all the<br />
drama of their feud behind them, in favour<br />
of baking cookies and making peace.<br />
After a rocky road - which most recently<br />
involved Katy offering Taylor an olive<br />
branch (literally) in May 2018, it appears<br />
things have calmed down altogether, and<br />
the pair are friends once again.<br />
“feels good @taylorswift,” Katy wrote on<br />
Twitter, alongside a photograph of a plate<br />
of cookies and icing which reads “peace<br />
at last”.<br />
Katy also tagged the geolocation<br />
as “let’s be friends”, suggesting all<br />
animosity is dead and gone.<br />
Well, I’m so happy about that, now I can<br />
sleep in peace at night myself!<br />
