Pregnant mum in stabbing
POLICE are looking into the
private life of a woman who
was killed by having her throat
cut at her home in the inland
Valencian town of Xativa. Her
partner made the horrific discovery
on Tuesday of the body
of Isabell Raducanu, 36, who
was six months pregnant and
the mother of another child.
The unborn child did not survive
the tragedy.
The dead woman’s boyfriend
has been named as Juan Vicen-
by Simon Russell
te and police say at the moment
they have no reason to doubt
his version of events; the couple
had no history of domestic
abuse or arguments according
to friends and neighbours. He
was to be the father of the new
child and had posted images
on social media of the babies
ultrasound. Apparently, Isabell
worked as a prostitute and this
is the main line of enquiry the
authorities are working on.
They have also confirmed that
there was no forced entry to
the property indicating that the
victim willingly let her killer
into the property. An autopsy is
due to be carried out this week.
Wednesday was declared as a
day of mourning in Xativa and
a rally was held in the victim’s
memory.
The incident follows on from
the murder of a young woman
in the Valencia town of Alboraya
just a day earlier. 29 year
old Beatriz AH was suffocated
in her bed. When confronted
by the police her partner, a
48 year old Romanian national,
killed himself by jumping
from a fifth floor balcony. The
case is under investigation but
police are almost certain that
the dead man was also the killer
of his partner. However they
will still need to conduct an
autopsy and full forensic examination.
