WHERE TO EAT & DRINK Plenty organise regular pop-up events with local eateries, from Momma Cherri and DD’s Jerk ’N' Ting to Kitgum Kitchen and Halloumilicious, or niche breweries who are happy to chat craft beer to customers. Others hold family fun days, from Easter Egg hunts and carols around the piano (a Corner House festive institution now!) to mini festivals, including the Summer Busk and MUSH!, taking place at multiple venues across town, as well as the infamous GunFest over the August bank holiday at The Gun in Findon. And there are lots of quirky oneoffs, including Finch’s memorable Draw for Drinks (best art wins a tipple). THE VINE'S RETRO GAMES TABLE Of course, it goes without saying that local pubs have also upped the ante when it comes to food and drink, from sophisticated gin menus at places like the Egremont or The Libertine Social, to creative cocktails and even a traditional cream tea at The Whisk(e)y Rooms. There’s a host of live music, and many have now expanded into supporting other performing arts, such as the Worthing Theatre Trail in September, with not-for-profit organisations such as The Inn Crowd and Pub Is The Hub involved in creating performance spaces and even libraries, pop-up tea rooms, shops, post offices and delicatessens in local pubs. It’s all part of creating a relaxed and shared community space that works for everyone, somewhere to go and meet other people, in a convivial and even inspiring atmosphere. What are you waiting for?
