FRONT ROW FILM & THEATRE
This month, take your seats for the re-telling of one
of Disney’s greatest animated films, as The Lion
King returns to the big screen. Then, take a journey
back to the industrial age in The Current War, where
Thomas Edison dazzles the world by lighting up
Manhattan, or step back in cinematic time with
re-screenings of The Matrix (Fri 2 Aug) and Jaws
(Fri 23 Aug) at the Connaught.
Looking ahead to the holidays, you might want to
cool off and keep the kids entertained with the
outdoor performances of Dip (Sat 3 Aug), which
celebrates how humans find and connect with each
other, and the hilarious Giant Balloon Show (Sat 24
Aug) outside the Pavilion. Children will also enjoy the
puppet show Look Up (Sat 17 Aug) which follows
a child who is fearless, playful and wondering if
everyone has forgotten how to look up and see
the birds. n
REVIEW SPIDER-MAN
Spider-Man:
Far From Home at
the Dome Cinema
Spider-Man may be known
for sticking to walls, but will
this film stick with you?
Spider-Man: Far From Home is
great! I feel like we needed
a more upbeat film after the
grave events of Avengers:
Endgame. And this film mixes
the right amount of comedy with
action. I believe we have one of
the best Spider-Man films, definitely up at the top with
Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man 2 and Jon Watts’ Spider-Man:
Homecoming.
This film is sure to stick around, and I would definitely
recommend that you see it. n
