<strong>Hui</strong> Holidays <strong>2019</strong><br />

Mele Kalikimaka! The <strong>Hui</strong>’s highly anticip<strong>at</strong>ed holiday shopping event<br />

returns with a winter wonderland of local and handmade items for<br />

everyone on your list! During this magical <strong>Hui</strong> Holidays season, the <strong>Hui</strong><br />

gallery shop will expand and be filled to the brim with artworks in many<br />

media, including one-of-a-kind handmade gifts by Maui artists and<br />

crafters, paintings, ceramic pieces, hand blown glass ornaments, locally<br />

made beauty products, and more! By shopping local, you’ll take part in<br />

the season of giving while supporting both local artists and <strong>Hui</strong> No‘eau.<br />

This year, join us to help celebr<strong>at</strong>e 40 years of wonderful cre<strong>at</strong>ive support,<br />

volunteering, and talented wre<strong>at</strong>h-making by the incredible Judy Bisgard<br />

<strong>Hui</strong> Holidays First Night <strong>2019</strong><br />

Wednesday, December 4<br />

5:00 – 8:00 pm<br />

Join us for the special opening of <strong>Hui</strong> Holidays <strong>at</strong> First Night! Do<br />

your holiday shopping in style as you sip and shop to spirited music.<br />

Surrounded by the holiday décor of the dram<strong>at</strong>ically decor<strong>at</strong>ed Kaluanui<br />

Est<strong>at</strong>e, our elves will be happy to help you check off your shopping list!<br />

You’ll also be wowed by this year’s paper display cre<strong>at</strong>ed by Maui artist<br />

Taylor Binda! Abstract painter and textile artist, Taylor Binda earned her<br />

BA degree from the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in<br />

Los Angeles, California. After gradu<strong>at</strong>ing, she apprenticed with painter<br />

Danuta Rothschild in Santa Monica and worked in the art department<br />

on film/TV sets. Her body of work includes abstract painting, install<strong>at</strong>ion<br />

artwork, and textile design. She is also teaching n<strong>at</strong>ural dye workshops <strong>at</strong><br />

the <strong>Hui</strong> (see pages 6 & 12!)! Note: First Night is a 21+ event.<br />

Volunteers needed!<br />

As a non-profit organiz<strong>at</strong>ion, the <strong>Hui</strong> always needs<br />

volunteers! For <strong>Hui</strong> Holidays, we specifically<br />

need g<strong>at</strong>herers, flowers & foliage don<strong>at</strong>ions<br />

for wre<strong>at</strong>h making, First Night helpers, and<br />
