The Search For Great
Dining In Delray Is Over
BY linda brown
Downtown Delray Beach is a fun, friendly, and one-of-a-kind oceanfront
destination. The walkability, range of offerings, and proximity to a worldclass
beach make Delray Beach a favorite resort town, and one of the
only “downtowns” in the United States with an adjacent beach.
This trendy arts community is home to so many outdoor festivals,
events, and entertainment venues, that it’s no wonder almost
two million people each year visit its two miles of public
beachfront. Visitors and locals alike can shop or soak up the sun in
the daytime and enjoy vibrant, lively nightlife in the evenings. But if
catching some of the most delicious seafood at the peak of freshness
is on your to-do list, head for the Atlantic Grille.
Located in the luxurious Seagate Hotel on Delray Beach’s famed Atlantic
Avenue, the restaurant is surrounded by charming boutiques,
galleries, and lounges. Just steps from the ocean, this eclectic eatery
perfectly captures the unique flavor of Delray Beach, with both its delightful
décor and inventive cuisine.
The restaurant houses a 450-gallon aquarium full of tranquil moon
jellyfish, in addition to a 20-foot wide by 4-foot high 2,500-gallon
shark tank with a variety of sharks.
The eclectic bill of fare and dining options match the décor. From
meeting friends for handcrafted cocktails to grabbing some light fare
such as salads and sandwiches, there’s no better place to absorb the
local scene than Jellies Bar and fire-pit lounge. Enjoy great people
watching and dining al fresco amidst calming ocean breezes.
Dinner in the main dining room features seafood, steaks, pasta, and
salads, all prepared with imaginative skill and flawless technique. But,
if brunch is your favorite meal, The Atlantic Grille has Delray’s best
brunch, by far. From the tropical pancakes with orange, pineapple, kiwi,
mango, and coconut compote, to the Benedict trio, with beef tenderloin
Benedict with béarnaise sauce, crab cake Benedict with red pepper
sauce, and lobster Benedict with sauce choron, the extensive weekend
brunch menu is sure to become the highlight of a great beach weekend.
Bold flavors, the freshest ingredients, and weekly menu changes
make every meal at the Atlantic Grille an original culinary experience.
Along with great food and aquatic atmosphere, add some great live
entertainment and you’ll have a dining experience that’s unmatched.
For live music lovers, the restaurant features Crush on Tuesdays,
and on Fridays and Saturdays, you can catch a performance by singer,
piano player, and local favorite, Orson Whitfield. On Thursdays, come
watch The Atlantic Blues Band for an unforgettable Blues Night.
There is indeed something for everyone.
This summer season, once again, the restaurant is offering a prix
fixe menu, available Sundays through Thursdays until September 30.
The acclaimed menu includes three courses with a complimentary
bottle of wine for only $38 per person. For the lucky locals who call
Delray Beach home, this is an absolute must for their summer guests.
For events and private parties, there are two private dining spaces
inside the Atlantic Grille. The glass-encased Wine Room features a
12-foot stone table with seating for 18 and custom-designed, handblown
glass chandeliers, making it the ideal venue for rehearsal dinners,
birthdays, anniversaries, business meetings, holiday parties,
and family and social gatherings. The smaller private dining room
seats parties of 10, perfect for intimate or business dining experiences.
Both rooms can be reserved.
Whether relaxing on the front patio, enjoying gracious fine dining
in the main dining room, sipping delicious drinks at the lively bar, or
holding a private party in one of the smaller rooms, guests will find
that the Atlantic Grille has a touch of casual sophistication that feels
right at home in Delray Beach’s historic, vibrant downtown. Make a
reservation by calling 561-693-3499, on OpenTable, or visiting online
