Eight out of 14 individual
only been playing the double
Bands from Rangi Ruru,
Linwood College, Hagley
College, Darfield High and
Riccarton High brought home
gold, silver and bronze medals.
St Andrew’s
head of music
Duncan
Ferguson said
it was very
satisfying to see
the big band
come out as the
overall winner.
“St Andrew’s
College has now
won the award
eight times in
the history of the
competition, but
the judges this
year were brand
new and didn’t
know us at all. So it’s really great
to have a different panel of judges
decide we were the best band.”
