tractor enthusiasts to take part in<br />
the Classic Car Show and Antique<br />
Tractor Show sponsored by Stan’s<br />
Inc. on Saturday, Aug. 31, and Sunday,<br />
Sept. 1, during the <strong>State</strong> <strong>Fair</strong>.<br />
Classic Car Show<br />
The Classic Car Show on Saturday,<br />
Aug. 31, is a chance<br />
to look at classic cars 25 years or<br />
older. Sherwin Linton will host the<br />
show from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. at the<br />
AARP Centennial Stage.<br />
Awards will begin at 4 p.m. with<br />
trophies awarded to first through<br />
third place in the people’s choice<br />
judging competition.<br />

Antique Tractor Show<br />
The Antique Tractor Show sponsored<br />
by Stan’s Inc. on Sunday,<br />
Sept. 1 is a display of antique tractors<br />
from around <strong>South</strong> <strong>Dakota</strong>. The<br />
show is open to all antique tractors.<br />
Sherwin Linton will host the show<br />

Both shows are free to enter and<br />
require pre-registration, as limited<br />

diapers on his family’s ranch, started<br />
training ponies at the age of 10, and<br />
trained his first horse at the age of 13.<br />
Since then, he has become one of<br />
the top horse trainers and clinicians<br />
in <strong>South</strong> <strong>Dakota</strong> and throughout the<br />
Midwest.<br />
Over the past few years, Rodney<br />
has instructed many horsemanship<br />
clinics and demonstrations for all ages<br />
and riding levels. His unique training<br />
style and sense of humor have made<br />
him a sought after horsemanship clinician<br />
throughout the United <strong>State</strong>s<br />
and Canada.<br />
He is the first and only 5-time<br />
champion of the Crosswinds Ranch<br />
Colt Training Challenge that is held<br />
at Michigan <strong>State</strong> University every<br />
Spring, and has won multiple Ranch<br />
Horse Colt Futurity competitions.<br />
He has become known for creating<br />
a relationship with his horses to<br />
produce extremely supple, well-mannered,<br />
and responsive horses that are<br />
capable of many disciplines.<br />

Two rare Pioneer tractors will be<br />
displayed at the Antique Machinery<br />
Exhibit at the <strong>South</strong> <strong>Dakota</strong> <strong>State</strong> <strong>Fair</strong>.<br />
Making its first appearance is a 1919<br />
Pioneer Special.<br />
Of the three known to exist in the United<br />
<strong>State</strong>s, this is the only one that still runs.<br />
It is exhibited by Irv and Mark King of<br />
Artesian.<br />

Making its third appearance at the<br />
<strong>State</strong> <strong>Fair</strong> is a monster 30-60 Pioneer<br />
Tractor.<br />
It is one of approximately 10 existing<br />
in the United <strong>State</strong>s. It was bought new<br />
by Edgar and Harry Knox of Alpena, at<br />
the <strong>State</strong> <strong>Fair</strong> in 1910.
