Car and Tractor Show planned
for South Dakota State Fair
The South Dakota State Fair
invites classic car and antique
tractor enthusiasts to take part in
the Classic Car Show and Antique
Tractor Show sponsored by Stan’s
Inc. on Saturday, Aug. 31, and Sunday,
Sept. 1, during the State Fair.
Classic Car Show
The Classic Car Show on Saturday,
Aug. 31, is a chance
to look at classic cars 25 years or
older. Sherwin Linton will host the
show from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. at the
AARP Centennial Stage.
Awards will begin at 4 p.m. with
trophies awarded to first through
third place in the people’s choice
judging competition.

Antique Tractor Show
The Antique Tractor Show sponsored
by Stan’s Inc. on Sunday,
Sept. 1 is a display of antique tractors
from around South Dakota. The
show is open to all antique tractors.
Sherwin Linton will host the show
from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. at the AARP
Centennial Stage.
Awards will begin at 4 p.m. with

Both shows are free to enter and
require pre-registration, as limited
entries are taken. Registration
forms can be found online at www.
sdstatefair.com or at the SD State
Fair office in the Nordby Exhibit

in South Dakota and throughout the

Over the past few years, Rodney
has instructed many horsemanship
clinics and demonstrations for all ages
and riding levels. His unique training
style and sense of humor have made
him a sought after horsemanship clinician
throughout the United States
and Canada.
He is the first and only 5-time
champion of the Crosswinds Ranch
Colt Training Challenge that is held
at Michigan State University every
Spring, and has won multiple Ranch
Horse Colt Futurity competitions.
He has become known for creating
a relationship with his horses to
produce extremely supple, well-mannered,
and responsive horses that are
capable of many disciplines.

2 Rare Pioneer tractors to be displayed
Two rare Pioneer tractors will be
displayed at the Antique Machinery
Exhibit at the South Dakota State Fair.
Making its first appearance is a 1919
Pioneer Special.
Of the three known to exist in the United
States, this is the only one that still runs.
It is exhibited by Irv and Mark King of
Artesian.
Below: 30-60 Pioneer Tractor
Making its third appearance at the
State Fair is a monster 30-60 Pioneer
Tractor.
It is one of approximately 10 existing
in the United States. It was bought new
by Edgar and Harry Knox of Alpena, at
the State Fair in 1910.
