2019 Tribute to Mothers and Fathers [as published]

Ò Ana Carmichael
Ana is an experienced community support worker who is a caring, honest,
diligent and responsible person. Two years ago, she stopped working to care for
her husband, Ross with whom she has a daughter. Now a widow, she is going
back to work. She used to work as Assistant Nurse at Nursing Group, in hospitals
and nursing homes. She also used to work as Community Support worker
Ana finished TAFE Course Certificate IV in Business and Frontline Management,
Certificate IV in Aged Care, and Computer Application for the office. She is
always interested to learn new skills, to get involved in the community, help
others to make a difference and to continue working after her retirement age as
long as she able to.
In the Philippines, she worked as Quality Control Supervisor in garments
and textile manufacturing company for 14 years. She travelled to Australia after her marriage to Ross
Carmichael.
She is a member of a Choir at St John Church, she enjoys singing joyful and praising songs to God our Lord
Jesus Christ every Sunday afternoon mass. She is also a member of Hand Maids of the Lord and is active
member of Filipino Women Support Group and APCO, Inc.
She plays tennis, loves cooking, gardening, fishing and sewing, She is a Volunteer for Advocacy Work and
supports Alpha at St John Church Campbelltown.
Ò Josephine Remotigue de los Reyes
Josephine grew up in Manila. She has a BS Commerce degree, Centro Escolar
University, is a Certified Public Accountant and Justice of the Peace, Past
President of the Association of Australian Filipino Accountants and helps newly
arrived accountants get integrated into the Filipino Australian community. She
has been a regular columnist and reporter for Philippine Australian Community
newspapers for the past 25 years. She loves dancing and cherishes involvement
in Filipino community activities as past president of various community
organizations. She is the Internal Auditor of Plaza Filipino. and Treasurer of
Sedgwick Housing Cooperative Ltd and NARRA.
As Justice of the Peace, she is proud that she is able to help the Filipino –
Australian communities and greatly honoured as member of organizations,
social or religious, that helps the community.
Ò Violeta Seno Logarta Greig
Violeta finished her secondary education at St.Theresa’s College Cebu and
graduated with the degree of Bachelor of Science in Commerce from the
University of San Carlos. She’s a proud daughter of the late Congressman Don
Vicente Logarta and the granddaughter of the First Judge of Cebu Don Miguel
Logarta.
An Accountant by profession, she was able to raise all children by herself.
Now at her ripe age of 94, she is devoted grandmother and a great grandmother
to nine children.
Violeta is a devotee to Senyor Sto. Nino and to Our Mother of Perpetual Help.
