Ò Ana Carmichael<br />

Ana is an experienced community support worker who is a caring, honest,<br />

diligent <strong>and</strong> responsible person. Two years ago, she s<strong>to</strong>pped working <strong>to</strong> care for<br />

her husb<strong>and</strong>, Ross with whom she h<strong>as</strong> a daughter. Now a widow, she is going<br />

back <strong>to</strong> work. She used <strong>to</strong> work <strong>as</strong> Assistant Nurse at Nursing Group, in hospitals<br />

<strong>and</strong> nursing homes. She also used <strong>to</strong> work <strong>as</strong> Community Support worker<br />

Ana finished TAFE Course Certificate IV in Business <strong>and</strong> Frontline Management,<br />

Certificate IV in Aged Care, <strong>and</strong> Computer Application for the office. She is<br />

always interested <strong>to</strong> learn new skills, <strong>to</strong> get involved in the community, help<br />

others <strong>to</strong> make a difference <strong>and</strong> <strong>to</strong> continue working after her retirement age <strong>as</strong><br />

long <strong>as</strong> she able <strong>to</strong>.<br />

In the Philippines, she worked <strong>as</strong> Quality Control Supervisor in garments<br />

<strong>and</strong> textile manufacturing company for 14 years. She travelled <strong>to</strong> Australia after her marriage <strong>to</strong> Ross<br />

Carmichael.<br />

She is a member of a Choir at St John Church, she enjoys singing joyful <strong>and</strong> praising songs <strong>to</strong> God our Lord<br />

Jesus Christ every Sunday afternoon m<strong>as</strong>s. She is also a member of H<strong>and</strong> Maids of the Lord <strong>and</strong> is active<br />

member of Filipino Women Support Group <strong>and</strong> APCO, Inc.<br />

She plays tennis, loves cooking, gardening, fishing <strong>and</strong> sewing, She is a Volunteer for Advocacy Work <strong>and</strong><br />

supports Alpha at St John Church Campbell<strong>to</strong>wn.<br />

Ò Josephine Remotigue de los Reyes<br />

Josephine grew up in Manila. She h<strong>as</strong> a BS Commerce degree, Centro Escolar<br />

University, is a Certified Public Accountant <strong>and</strong> Justice of the Peace, P<strong>as</strong>t<br />

President of the Association of Australian Filipino Accountants <strong>and</strong> helps newly<br />

arrived accountants get integrated in<strong>to</strong> the Filipino Australian community. She<br />

h<strong>as</strong> been a regular columnist <strong>and</strong> reporter for Philippine Australian Community<br />

newspapers for the p<strong>as</strong>t 25 years. She loves dancing <strong>and</strong> cherishes involvement<br />

in Filipino community activities <strong>as</strong> p<strong>as</strong>t president of various community<br />

organizations. She is the Internal Audi<strong>to</strong>r of Plaza Filipino. <strong>and</strong> Tre<strong>as</strong>urer of<br />

Sedgwick Housing Cooperative Ltd <strong>and</strong> NARRA.<br />

As Justice of the Peace, she is proud that she is able <strong>to</strong> help the Filipino –<br />

Australian communities <strong>and</strong> greatly honoured <strong>as</strong> member of organizations,<br />

social or religious, that helps the community.<br />

Ò Violeta Seno Logarta Greig<br />

Violeta finished her secondary education at St.Theresa’s College Cebu <strong>and</strong><br />

graduated with the degree of Bachelor of Science in Commerce from the<br />

University of San Carlos. She’s a proud daughter of the late Congressman Don<br />

Vicente Logarta <strong>and</strong> the gr<strong>and</strong>daughter of the First Judge of Cebu Don Miguel<br />

Logarta.<br />

An Accountant by profession, she w<strong>as</strong> able <strong>to</strong> raise all children by herself.<br />

Now at her ripe age of 94, she is devoted gr<strong>and</strong>mother <strong>and</strong> a great gr<strong>and</strong>mother<br />

<strong>to</strong> nine children.<br />

Violeta is a devotee <strong>to</strong> Senyor S<strong>to</strong>. Nino <strong>and</strong> <strong>to</strong> Our Mother of Perpetual Help.
